FARO introduces PointSense and VirtuSurv 17.5:
the latest installment in 3D documentation and surveying software

FARO offers a complete 3D solution that consists of short and long range laser scanners in combination with FARO’s evaluation software; providing a seamless workflow from capturing existing conditions to delivering plans and 3D models. PointSense and VirtuSurv 17.5 is directly compatible with the recent release of Autodesk® AutoCAD® and Revit® software.

PointSense for Revit ...

PointSense for Revit® is a perfect complement for users working with point cloud data in Autodesk Revit®. This add-on offers processing functionality of scan data with customized commands for modeling and detailing BIM elements.

PointSense Pro for AutoCAD

PointSense Pro provides several tools for the management and processing of laser scan data within AutoCAD. PointSense Pro imports essentially all currently available 3D laser scan data formats into AutoCAD.

SmartSnap

  • Snapping of objects in an area of interest directly in the cloud
  • Allows precise snap to planes, corners or edges of a point cloud
  • Provides the user greater control on the points snapped compared to the native AutoCAD® point cloud snap tool
  • Allows snapping the highest or lowest point within a certain radius
  • Makes drawing and modelling based on the as-is situation much easier

Fit Profiles

PointSense Building for AutoCAD

PointSense Building is applicable where 2D plans must be generated from 3D plans in a short period of time, e.g. for property planning, property survey for facility management or for interior fitting and special construction like shipbuilding.

FARO PointSense Plant provides pattern recognition tools for plant assets and components within point cloud data allowing designers the ability to move directly into familiar AutoCAD based plant design programs (Plant 3D, MEP, CADWorx, AutoPlant, etc.).

Pre-Calculation

  • Pre-calculation tool detects all cylinders in the point cloud or a specific area
  • Modelling workflow "Walk the Run“ is now as fast as a user can click
  • User has still the complete control

Cut-Back Support

  • Cutback elbows allow to model closer to the point cloud. But they are still intelligent, catalog-based objects

VirtuSurv

VirtuSurv is FARO’s standalone software for working with highly visual laser scan data. The program supports the import, export and display of numerous structured scan data formats and has interfaces for Windows based programs as well as various CAD and BIM packages. This flexible platform makes using laser scan data extremely easy and straightforward.

Interface via clipboard

  • Simply click in the scan and paste via CTRL+V where the measurement is needed
  • Customizable macros for optimized workflows
  • Interface via clipboard into any Windows dialog without having to connect with VirtuSurv beforehand
