Non-Contact Inspection

Fragile, complex, or free-form surfaces can be captured as a dense and detailed 3D point cloud by the FARO® ScanArm and Laser Scanner, allowing users to perform non-contact, 3D inspections with ease.

Non-contact 3D scanners from FARO can digitize features, such as flush and gap, that are difficult to inspect with contact methods. Additionally, laser scanning for 3D documentation can be a faster method of verifying many features and dimensions and it produces a more comprehensive and easier-to-read report.

FARO Enables a Five-fold Increase in Measurement Efficiency for Calsonic Kansei Korea

“I remember my first encounter with the FaroArm, where we used it to survey contour lines and the cross-section of our pipes and pressed parts,” recalled the Deputy Head of the Quality Assurance team. “It worked very well!”.

ARJ Recommends the FARO Edge ScanArm as the Way of the Future

“I want to get the word out. I tell everyone I can about this technology and show them how it works for us. I recommend FARO to everyone. This is a whole new level of measurement and process and should be in every tool and production shop. THIS is what they should be using too,” said Mr. Reagan. “I’m a tool maker and this is the way of the future. If you know die making and quality and processes, this tool will save you millions! I love it!”

Trinity Forge Uses a Forward-Thinking Approach to an Ancient Process

Trinity Forge saw FARO’s pricing, the equipment’s ease-of-use, and the quality of the tool itself as their deciding factors. Within two months, they were at full steam and scanning, modeling scans, and reverse engineering dies and parts for maintenance. “The speed at which we can operate is a great value to us. Several new dies from the CNCs can be scanned in the morning and approved in the afternoon. Reverse engineering of parts, maintenance of parts, or die models are all a snap using FARO.”

Applying New Technology and New Thinking for Dramatic Returns

“The ScanArm allows incoming inspection sampling and immediate response (root cause) to part or fit up issues. This changes us from a completely reactive culture to a proactive one with the ability to immediately identify and correct root cause problems.”
