Stream data into forms and databases

VirtuSurv supports a completely digital, less error-prone workflow for the display and organization of highly visual laser scan data. Easily take measurements, navigate in the photo-like scan view and send them directly into the Windows application of your choice. Fill in forms, Excel sheets, databases or tables with distances or coordinates. Generate results in just three steps: Load the project. Connect to a Windows application. Measure.

Create CAD drawings and 3D models from scan data within minutes

Click and measure the desired points within VirtuSurv and the design is simultaneously drawn into a CAD plan or BIM design, e.g. AutoCAD®, Revit, BricsCAD, SEMA or Rhino. Establish coordinates, distances and draw CAD objects without loading large and bulky point clouds into a CAD environment. Adapting VirtuSurv to the current workflow is fast and efficient.

Display laser scans fast and as clear as photos

High resolution views make it possible for the user to navigate intuitively, recognize needed objects and easily survey them within the familiar photo-like view of the scans.

Combine different scanner formats – Work in a homogeneous environment

Do you have scans of the same scene, but taken with different scanners in different formats? Combine them in a single VirtuSurv project and measure across the single scan boundaries.

Write macros with CAD commands and make them easily available by using hot keys

Adapt VirtuSurv to your specific workflow. Take advantage of predefined and comfortable command strings. VirtuSurv provides macros, which can control the actions of external programs from within the VirtuSurv environment. This considerably speeds up the evaluation of scan data and prevents switching between VirtuSurv and the target application. As an experienced user, customize the macros at will and create new macros in order to optimize your workflows.

Create a coded field book

Surveyors traditionally used a total station and coded field books to generate a finished drawing after importing the data into their CAD package and can now combine laser scanning within this familiar workflow. The “Create Field Book” option within VirtuSurv supports this traditional procedure and reduces training to a minimum.

DistToPlan connects a Bluetooth hand-held laser to AutoCAD® (LT) running on a notebook or laptop. An interface enables measurements to be taken with a Bluetooth hand-held laser, the measured distances can be immediately used by all AutoCAD® commands.

Measurement and construction tools

Various commands enable you to generate certain building specific elements through a combination of measurements and supplemented measurement entries (e.g. commands for the optimized calibration and dimensioning of doors and windows).

Additionally to the regular AutoCAD® commands DistToPlan also supports functionality for certain recurring situations of manual measurements, e.g. straight and rectangular extensions, arcs intersection, spatial joining of lines.

Plan analysis

Tools for the detection of double lines, small gaps and very short lines help to generate precise drawings.

Area data management

Various commands enable a structured collection of area and object data as well as a fast and comfortable generation of spatial polygons. According to our data collection software hylasFM, a configurable area view, which is set up like a structure view, will be recorded in parallel to the drawing. The recorded area data can be exported at the push of a button.

Customized Workflows

User customizations and external applications have complete access to the measurement functions. Various commands for the efficient working with layers simplify the workflow. Manual measurements can easily be combined with a total station observations by importing coordinates from an ASCII file into DistToPlan.

MonuMap: Mapping of damage and features as well as action planning in CAD

MonuMap is a solution for mapping the condition of existing buildings. On rectified images, scanned drawings or measured elevations CAD objects are created that represent the findings.

As-built and damage mapping

Objects such as stones, features or materials will be collected together with their attributes, e.g. stone type, building phase, type of processing. The characteristics and dimension of damages will be documented. Additional to the mapping of damages planned actions for the conversation or restoration will be recorded within the plan.

Automatic Visualization

Project specific data or further documentation such as photos will be assigned to every graphical object, within a clear structure view. Attractive visualizations will be generated as hatchings, line signatures or symbols during the mapping. Type, style, colour and layer of the visualization comply with the collected object data. The mapping key may be extensively customized. Subsequent changes will be immediately applied to the already collected geometry. Legends with optional totals information may be generated at any time within the plan by a simple click of the mouse.

Export of part lists and quantity surveys

Extensive export possibilities complete the range of use of MonuMap. Parts lists and quantity surveys are easily created which can then be processed in spreadsheet programs or data bases e.g. for tendering purposes. Logical links, e.g. between corresponding stones, damages and actions make complex analyses possible.

Easy configuration in accordance with given specifications

MonuMap may be easily configured for existing office standards or given specifications where applicable. Company wide shared templates guarantee uniform data handling. On the other hand there are directly usable templates for many current mapping tasks. The mapping will be consistent and efficient through the use of catalogues and selection lists.

A significant part of the cost of creating a facility management system (FM) are the result of data collection costs. When creating a suitable data base you have to refer, most often, to CAD drawings. But often these have an unsuitable structure, forcing a complex manual data migration. The advantages of using hylasFM are:

  • Automated floor plan analysis
  • Independent but compatible with the final FM system
  • Automatic plausibility testing

 

Work in the most common AutoCAD® and AutoCAD® LT environment

The software is fully integrated into the well-known AutoCAD® / AutoCAD® LT environment. Through the robust pattern recognition functionality and database compliant organization, the time taken for data acquisition will be significantly reduced. Additionally, data quality increases significantly because typing errors are avoided while continuous and automatic plausibility tests are verifying the results.

Automatically evaluation of CAD drawings

hylasFM structures new or existing CAD floor plans. The results can be used within regular CAFM software that requires geometrical and non-geometrical building data. Any complex data structures (rooms, openings, walls, equipment, etc.) can be captured and used for various aspects, such as:

  • Surface analysis using various standards
  • Inventory management
  • Cleaning Management
  • Technical infrastructure

…and much more.

Adaptable data models

It is possible to customize the data model of hylasFM to the various tasks. By doing so, the data compatibility to all current CAFM systems will be guaranteed.

Areas of application

hylasFM is used for the

  • creation of room and floor polylines,
  • generation of element blocks (rooms, windows, doors, inventory, etc.),
  • conversion of a 2D plan into a 3D building model (Architectural Desktop),
  • area calculations in accordance with DIN 277, GIF, II BV, DIN 13080,
  • collection and assignment of inventory items,
  • conversion of graphical symbols into analyzable blocks,
  • plan improvement (finding gaps, double lines and similar).
