Nova Bus, a division of Volvo, is a North American leader in the design and production of urban transit buses. Previous frame inspection methods required two inspectors and took up to five hours per bus in order to properly verify accuracy. They decided to acquire a FARO Laser Tracker. The FARO Laser Tracker’s long range limits the number of required device positions, i.e. fewer “leap frogs” are needed. Fewer device relocations greatly reduced the inspection time needed per bus frame.
