Track I

Customer projects and solutions – Process & Industry

13.20 – 14.00   Flemming Madsen Mechanical Engineer, Semco Maritime Scanning of offshore facilities, retrofit, solutions using Argumenta Reality (AR) and online verification via Virtual Reality (VR)
14.00 – 14.20   Coffee and questions

14.20 – 15.00   Per Damsgaard / NTI Project Manager Brønderslev Heat Plant – Scanning and digitalization of a complete Process & Plant installation, digitizing pipes and installations with FARO As-Built and examples of the actual deviations between what was built and what was planned.

15:00 –              Questions to FARO and NTI

Track II:

13:20 – 14:00   Jens Hallkvist, System Consultant and Land Surveyor NTI A/S – Jeudan customer case – we created point clouds using scanning and drone data capture which was used as a basis for creating BIM models – both inside and outside.

Measuring methods:

  • Drone data capture and land coordinates (DKTM3) as a single point cloud
  • Matterport scanning with accuracy equal to 1% reality. Inside for part of the ground floor as a single point cloud
  • Scanning with FARO, an accuracy of 1mm per 10 meters. Inside for the ground floor and the outside put together for a single point cloud which enabled us to build a complete BIM model

In this way, we were provided with an overview of measurement methodologies and their accuracy, which is essential for our customers within the BIM world. Which measurement should be used for the task and can these methods be used together? And how to use this to achieve a real digital world?

14.00 – 14.20   Coffee and questions

14.20 – 15.00   Lars Albjerg, Global BIM Manager NNE A/S Use of point cloud in the pharmaceutical industry Utilising 3D scan for design. Get an insight into how NNE uses FARO scanners in their projects – where can point clouds be used in the pharmaceutical industry? Hear about the benefits and challenges of a typical workflow, from scanning in classified areas, to processing confidential scan data in FARO Scene, to design and coordinate models in Plant 3D, Revit and Navisworks, and on to customer presentations and instructional models in AR/VR.
