FARO Technologies, Inc. recognizes that maintaining an unpolluted environment is vital for a healthy life and sustainable growth for future generations. We are committed to our goals of surpassing environmental standards and being proactive in dealing with concerns for the environment. These goals are being achieved by combining technological innovation with sound environmental business decisions at every step of a product’s life cycle. Our efforts focus on complying with all applicable environmental regulations within each country in which we do business.
FARO is committed to meeting all requirements of the European Union’s (EU) WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and RoHS (Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directives. These directives require strategies for waste management and product design for the environment for electrical and electronic equipment sold into EU countries.
FARO is committed to meeting all requirements of the WEEE directive (2002/96/EC). The WEEE directive requires that manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment who sell into EU countries: (1) label their equipment to notify customers that it needs to be recycled, and (2) ensure that their products are appropriately disposed of or recycled at the end of their lifespan. For collection and return of FARO products, please contact your local FARO representative or distribution partner.
FARO also is committed to meeting or exceeding the requirements of the RoHS directive (2002/95/EC). The RoHS directive requires that manufacturers eliminate or minimize the use of lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, cadmium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers in electrical and electronic equipment sold in the EU after July 1, 2006.
