Precision Training for Real-World Scenarios
Join us for an immersive three-day training program focused on advanced techniques for documenting and analyzing crash and crime scenes using FARO Zone. This workshop emphasizes the effective use of the software alongside drone data, plus 3D data from the FARO Focus® and the FARO Orbis® Premium.
This training, tailored for public safety professionals, blends classroom instruction with practical field demonstrations. It aims to enhance operational efficiency, boost reporting accuracy, and strengthen courtroom presentations.
Training Schedule
Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm ET (Daily)
Day 1: Foundations of 3D Scene Capture
- Best practices for drone-based scene documentation
- Generating point clouds from aerial imagery
- Combining drone and LiDAR scan data in Zone
Day 2: Specialized Tracks
Crash Reconstruction- Speed calculations from physical evidence
- Animation using EDR data
- Time and distance analysis
- Report Development
Crime Scene Reconstruction
- Bloodstain pattern and trajectory analysis
- Scene documentation methodologies
- Reporting and data presentation
Day 3: Deliverables and Presentation
- Introduction to basic animation (KEPs, syncing, camera setup)
- Creating courtroom-ready materials: ortho mosaic images, fly-through videos, and witness perspectives.
Practical Application and Additional Information
- Participants will take part in live mock crash scene documentation exercises utilizing FARO LiDAR scanners.
- Attendees may bring their own drones but must hold a valid FAA Part 107 certificate in order to engage in flight activities.
- We will provide 20 laptops equipped with FARO Zone software, but participants are also welcome to bring and use their own devices.
- Each morning, a light breakfast and coffee will be available, and a catered lunch will be provided daily for all participants.
