The British Postal Museum in London is using 3D scan data captured using FARO® Focus Laser Scanners and processed with FARO SCENE software to create an immersive, time-traveling experience for visitors. Rail Mail trains used to run between Paddington and Whitechapel on a vast underground network that delivered letters and packages across the city in just a few minutes.
Although the complex has been closed since 2003, the museum partnered with ScanLAB Projects to capture all the now-hidden features, just as they were, for two interactive exhibits.
Check out the case study above for a glimpse of the labyrinth of tunnels and platforms that were brought to life with the scan data.
