Simon Raab, PhD

CEO, Chairman

Sim RaabDr. Raab is a co-founder of the Company and has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company since its inception in 1982. Dr. Raab served as Chief Executive Officer of the Company from its inception in 1982 until January 2006, as Co-Chief Executive Officer from January 2006 until December 2006, and as President of the Company from 1986 until 2004. Dr. Raab holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University, Montreal, Canada, a Masters of Engineering Physics from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Waterloo, Canada.


Jody Gale

Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Jody GaleJody Gale serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Most recently, Mr. Gale served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel – M&A, Securities and Governance for Biomet, Inc. Prior to joining Biomet, Mr. Gale was a corporate partner at the global law firm Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Mr. Gale holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Albion College, a MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University and a Juris Doctorate from Case Western. He is a member of the Indiana and Illinois bars.


Kathleen J. Hall

Senior Vice President and Managing Director – Americas

Kathleen HallKathleen J. Hall serves as Senior Vice President and Managing Director for FARO’s Americas region.  Most recently, Ms. Hall served as a Corporate Officer at Avery Dennison as Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Graphics and Reflective Solutions and Performance Tapes Americas’ businesses.  Prior to joining Avery Dennison, Ms. Hall spent twenty-six years at E.I DuPont De Nemours & Company in roles of increasing responsibility, ranging from operations and sourcing to sales, marketing and global business leadership.  Ms. Hall holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University.  


Joe Arezone

Managing Director Europe, Middle East & Africa and Managing Director Asia Pacific

Joe ArezoneJoe Arezone serves as Managing Director Europe, Middle East & Africa and Managing Director Asia Pacific. Mr. Arezone served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of FARO’s Asia Pacific region from August, 2009 to November, 2014. Mr. Arezone also served as the region’s Vice President of Sales from January, 2008 to August, 2009. Prior to that, Mr. Arezone was Area Vice President of Sales for the Eastern U.S. market from July, 2005 to January, 2009. Mr. Arezone holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration from Cleveland State University.


Laura A. Murphy

Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Laura MurphyLaura A. Murphy serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Most recently Vice President Finance – Healthcare Compliance Solutions of Stericycle, Inc., a global provider of regulated and compliance solutions to healthcare and commercial businesses, where she also previously served as Vice President, International & Corporate Finance. Prior to Stericycle, Ms. Murphy was Vice President and CFO of Philips N.A. Lighting Electronics, a division of Philips Electronics, BV following a long tenure through a number of advancing finance positions at Ford Motor Company, where she gained significant international experience with four expatriate assignments in Germany, England and Spain. Ms. Murphy holds a JD/MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison  


Dr. Bernd Becker

Chief Technology Strategist and Evangelist

Bernd BeckerBernd Becker has served as Chief Technology Strategist and Evangelist at FARO since April 2012. From April, 2005 to March, 2012 Dr. Becker served as Director of Product Management and Business Development for 3D Laser Scanning. Dr. Becker is the co-founder of iQvolution, where the 3D Laser Scanner was developed before the company was acquired by FARO in 2005.

Dr. Becker began his career working for IPA-Fraunhofer-Institute in Germany in the area of factory simulation. He co-founded AESOP GmbH, which developed and marketed the SIMPLE++ factory simulation software. AESOP was sold to Tecnomatix, which today is part of Siemens Automotive. Dr. Becker holds a Diploma Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, a Master´s Degree in Operations Research from Stanford University, Palo Alto, California, and a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany.


Esme Thompson

Director, Talent and Organizational Development

Esme ThompsonEsme Thompson serves as the Director, Talent and Organizational Development. Most recently, Ms. Thompson was the Head of Organizational Development for Medlmmune, a division of Astra Zeneca. Additionally, Ms. Thompson has held roles of increasing responsibility with several world class organizations, including Texaco, Kraft Foods (now Mondelez) and the Center for Creative Leadership. Her responsibilities and experiences have focused heavily on talent, succession planning, organizational development, coaching and training, and have covered virtually every functional organization across more than 70 countries around the world. Ms. Thompson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Pratt Institute and an MBA in International Business and General Management from Cornell University.
