Jay Freeland

President and Chief Executive Officer

Jay W. Freeland has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of FARO since December, 2006. Mr. Freeland’s previous roles with the company include those of President and Co-Chief Executive officer from January, 2006 to December, 2006, President and Chief Operating Officer from November, 2004 to January, 2006 and director since February, 2006.

Mr. Freeland began his career with General Electric’s Financial Management program in 1991. He held various financial, strategic, sales and operational management roles of increasing responsibility with GE until 2003 when he formed his own consulting company. Mr. Freeland holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Union College, Schenectady, New York.


Peter G. Abram

Senior Vice President and CFO

Peter G. Abram serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Most recently Mr. Abram served as the Chief Financial Officer, Phase II-IV for inVentiv Health Clinical LLC, and previously held senior management positions at Stryon LLC and MDS, Inc. following a number of advancing positions at PerkinElmer, Inc. and G E Capital. In addition to financial leadership, Mr. Abram served as Director of Global Sales Operations for PerkinElmer’s Life and Analytical Sciences division and gained significant international experience with Aeroquip-Vickers, Inc while living overseas. Mr. Abram holds a B.S. degree in Finance from Miami Universtiy.


Jody Gale

Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Jody Gale serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Most recently, Mr. Gale served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel – M&A, Securities and Governance for Biomet, Inc. Prior to joining Biomet, Mr. Gale was a corporate partner at the global law firm Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Mr. Gale holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Albion College, a MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University and a Juris Doctorate from Case Western. He is a member of the Indiana and Illinois bars.


Kathleen J. Hall

Senior Vice President and Managing Director – Americas

Kathleen J. Hall serves as Senior Vice President and Managing Director for FARO’s Americas region.  Most recently, Ms. Hall served as a Corporate Officer at Avery Dennison as Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Graphics and Reflective Solutions and Performance Tapes Americas’ businesses.  Prior to joining Avery Dennison, Ms. Hall spent twenty-six years at E.I DuPont De Nemours & Company in roles of increasing responsibility, ranging from operations and sourcing to sales, marketing and global business leadership.  Ms. Hall holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. 


Ralf Drews

Senior Vice President and Managing Director – Europe, Middle East and Africa

Ralf Drews serves as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of FARO’s Europe region. Prior to joining FARO, Mr. Drews served as the CEO and President of Draeger Safety North America from 2008 to 2012. He managed the Global Research and Development Group for Draeger Safety from 2000 to 2008. Mr. Drews started his career with Draeger Safety in 1991 as a Project/Program Manager for the Research and Development Group working for internal and international external clients. During his tenure at Draeger Safety, Mr. Drews served as member of the global management team. Mr. Drews is a graduate of the University of Applied Sciences in Lübeck where he holds a Physics Engineering Degree.


Joe Arezone

Senior Vice President and Managing Director – Asia Pacific

Joe Arezone has been Senior Vice President and Managing Director of FARO’s Asia Pacific region since August, 2009. Mr. Arezone served as the region’s Vice President of Sales from January, 2008 to August, 2009. Prior to that, Mr. Arezone was Area Vice President of Sales for the Eastern U.S. market from July, 2005 to January, 2009. Mr. Arezone holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration from Cleveland State University.


Dr. Bernd Becker

Chief Technology Strategist and Evangelist

Bernd Becker has served as Chief Technology Strategist and Evangelist at FARO since April 2012. From April, 2005 to March, 2012 Dr. Becker served as Director of Product Management and Business Development for 3D Laser Scanning. Dr. Becker is the co-founder of iQvolution, where the 3D Laser Scanner was developed before the company was acquired by FARO in 2005.

Dr. Becker began his career working for IPA-Fraunhofer-Institute in Germany in the area of factory simulation. He co-founded AESOP GmbH, which developed and marketed the SIMPLE++ factory simulation software. AESOP was sold to Tecnomatix, which today is part of Siemens Automotive. Dr. Becker holds a Diploma Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, a Master´s Degree in Operations Research from Stanford University, Palo Alto, California, and a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany.
