Matec Instruments builds ultrasonic inspection robots that look through parts — literally — to locate voids or delaminations. Matec has installed these ultrasound robots throughout the aerospace industry, each with its own map to correct the position of the manipulator heads. The FARO Tracker has allowed them to not only properly align these systems during installation, but also ‘dial in’ the send-receive tracking between each independent gantry resulting in phenomenal image quality.
