Dr. Denis Wohlfeld

Dr. Denis Wohlfeld is Director of Research Networks at FARO and is globally responsible for funded research projects and innovation management. He holds a diploma in computer engineering from the University of Mannheim and a Ph.D. in Physics with a focus on optical technologies from the University of Heidelberg.

While at the University of Heidelberg, he founded a research group on high-speed optical communication and later founded a startup focused on this area. Wohlfeld has more than 15 years of experience in interconnect technology, research projects, and is passionate about the field of digital transformation, the Internet of Things and digital twin solutions. In addition to his work at FARO, he also serves as a technology reference at the ARENA2036 research campus for the field of smart factory/digital twin solutions.
